GETTING HERE
From Atlanta to Blue Ridge: *Drive approximately 75 miles north of Atlanta on 575, which turns into 515, known as the “Appalachian Developmental Highway” (APD) In Blue Ridge: ->From 515 at Windy Ridge Circle (Conoco Gas Station): Turn R. on Windy Ridge circle, go 0.1 mi ->Turn left onto Lookout Mountain Scenic Hwy/old Hwy 76 go 0.2mi ->Take first right onto Aska Rd go 13.2 mi ->Turn right on Newport Rd go 0.5mi ->Take the first right onto Black Ankle Creek Rd go about 2 mi ->Turn left onto dirt road, Black Ankle Way property is at the end of this road, approx. 0.1mi. Follow our signs to the sign in station and parking lot
**Alternate directions from Ellijay (8 mi shorter but takes a little longer--nice drive) Just past the 2nd traffic light in Ellijay, exit onto GA-52 E/52 E/River St (on the right) Continue to follow GA-52 E/52 E travel 6.3 mi Turn left onto Big Creek Rd (LANDMARK Turn by dollar store on the left) Travel 8.5 mi and Continue onto Doublehead Gap Rd; travel another 6.1 mi (No landmarks, travel a total of 14.6 mi after turning at Dollar store—watch your mileage) Turn left onto Newport Rd travel 3.6 mi Turn left onto Black Ankle Creek Rd (At Jon Ron Kayak and Canoe) travel 2.0 mi Turn left onto Black Ankle Way (gravel road, look for green signs) Destination will be at end of the road Follow our signs Call Jana at 404-502-3539, Sherrie at 404-502-3538 be aware reception is sometimes poor …we’re in the forest and the mountains ya’ll.
Pretty directions through the forest by a large creek (Big Creek): Follow the directions from Ellijay to Big Creek Rd (Landmark dollar Store on left), turn Left on Big Creek Rd *Go about 8-8.5 miles and turn left on Pisgah Rd (Landmark Big Creek Fire Station on the right)**easy to miss this turn** (note if you miss Pisgah, Big Creek Road is about 0.1 mi after this also on Left, turn here and skip the next direction) *Follow Pisgah until it dead ends on Big Creek Rd (paved), turn left *Follow Big Creek about 7 miles, hard top, then gravel for about 4 miles, then back on hardtop next to Big Creek Baptist Church (yes it is through the forest but no real way to get lost on this road, do not turn off of it onto a smaller road...just go until...) *Go past the church to a 3-way stop, turn RIGHT onto Black Ankle Creek Rd *Go about 0.8 mile to Black Ankle Way on the RIGHT. There is a road sign and a small fox mtn camp sign. Black Ankle way is Gravel. *Fox Mtn Camp is at the end of this road, approx. 0.1mi. Follow our signs and you will see our gate and sign in station. Follow posted directions from there.
